The Latest Scoop


Happy 2nd Birthday CarnivalCat! Today marks my 2nd year at deviantART as the CarnivalCat! I just happened to notice it and thought I should make a note of it. Whee!

I finally finished pruning my desktop. I moved everything I cared about (aside from my programs) to my external hard drive before actually removing them from my desktop. I just hope my external hard drive doesn’t fail or anything. @_@ Now THAT would be a nightmare. lol

Now that I have freed up all of this space I am actually looking for more programs to buy/install/play with. I have a whole list of them, but I am lacking the funds so for now I may have to settle for trials. Kinda sucks, but I really want to get my hands dirty with everything that I can.

As far as more art is concerned – Don’t’ worry! It is definitely coming! I can’t sit idle for too long without going crazy (like all of a week, I think). I’m definitely a creator and I can’t not create SOMETHING (ex: draw, update my website, fold paper, make a bento box, write) without feeling like I’m going to explode. I’m not quite sure how I went so long without drawing anything a while back. Geah, no wonder I had so many problems the last few years. lol

I started on my next project last night. It wasn’t exactly " planned,"; my boyfriend’s little step sister saw me sit down and get set up and asked me to draw a lion. I sketched one quickly and it went from there. I got the base colors down, but I have yet to get into any kind of detail. I’ve never drawn a lion so I’m not sure the anatomy of the face and body are correct. If I can’t get to a higher level of realism than portrayed in “Ancient Rome” then I probably will not be happy with it.

I want to try my hand at developing a few works of art at once. I think that if I do that then I will be forcing myself to spend more time on each one, and be more likely to endure the repetitiveness of texture rendering. Ooh man I am not a fan of drawing fur or metallic objects in terms of realism. lol I suppose once I fully develop my own method I’ll get quicker and be happier with however it turns out.

The title doesn't really have anything to do with the journal update, I'm just feeling very Star Wars right now. :D

I've gotten settled in a new place for now. My desktop is set up, and it's only a matter of time before I sit down and get to work on something new.
